Benign cystic teratoma of the ovary with rupture into the rectum: Report of a unique rectal tumor

Conclusion

A case with diagnosis of benign cystic teratoma penetrating the rectal wall is presented. Teratoma of the rectum, primary or secondary, is not familiar and diagnosis is difficult. However, it is rather easy when teeth are found on x-ray or by colonoscopy. Even in such instances the origin of the tumor is usually obscure before operation.
