Abstract
The notion of a virtual geometrical symmetry group of a nonrigid molecule with energetically nonequivalent equilibrium configurations is introduced. Due to this, methods of qualitative analysis of intramolecular effects for such molecules using the concept of symmetry group chains are significantly generalized.
