Abstract

The bosonic string is investigated using the approach to 4D string dynamics previously proposed by the author. The physical states and the mass spectrum are constructed. The scale invariance of the theory results in the linear dependence of the squared mass μ2 on the “spin”\(\hbar \sqrt {s(s + 1)}\).
