Semigroups with strong and nonstrong magnifying elements

Abstract

The question if there exist semigroups containing both strong and nonstrong magnifying elements was recently raised up by K.D. Magill Jr. in [3] and by F. Catino and F. Migliorini in [1]. In this note we give an affirmative answer to this question.
