Evolution of a solitary second sound pulse in a long waveguide

Abstract

The investigations of the solitary nonlinear second sound pulses in superfluid helium propagating in cylindrical waveguide were made experimentally and theoretically. The dependence of the pulse shape on the traveled path is obtained. The experimental results are compared with the results of computer simulation.
