Abstract
Viscosity of superfluid3He was measured in theA and theA 1 phase in the magnetic field from 0.6 to 12 Tesla in the pressure between 0.5 and 29 bar. This measurement was done in a well controlled texture by use of a torsional oscillator with a defined sample geometry and a direction of the magnetic field, leading into quantitative results. Measured viscosity tensor η3, show a rapid decreases at both superfluid transitions,A 1 andA 2. Above a certain magnetic field, the viscosity has a minimum in theA 1 phase as a function of temperature, which was previously reported qualitatively in vibrating wire measurements. In theA phase, it decreases monotonously and seems to vanish toward zero Kelvin.
