Abstract
Experimental measurements of the attenuation of zero sound near the pair-breaking edge in superfluid3He−B at low pressure have revealed a peak-antipeak structure in the presence of a magnetic field. These features correspond to those predicted for theJ=1−,J Z=±1 modes, but a recent calculation has shown that, even in the presence of a magnetic field, there is no coupling between zero sound and these modes. This paper discusses these contradictions.
