On the Gieseker-Petri map for rank 2 vector bundles

Abstract

Denote by Wn,d r the set of stable vector bundles of rank n and degree d with at least r+1 sections. We compute the singular locus of Wn,d 1. We show that W2,d 2 is irreducible and reduced and we characterize the singular locus of Wn,d 2.
