Abstract
Measurements of the critical currentI c alongc axis as a function of the parallel magnetic fieldH clearly demonstrate the intrinsic DC Josephson effect on small area stacked junctions fabricated from perfect single crystal Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 whiskers with in plane sizeL less than 20 μm. For larger values ofL, a dimensional crossover to monotonous size independent behaviour ofI c (H) is observed.
