Auf vielen technischen Anwendungsgebieten wird eine Interpolation ohne Vorzeichenwechsel der zweiten Ableitung verlangt. Eine einfache Möglichkeit ist eine Funktion, welche, geometrisch gedeutet, einen Ellipsenbogen darstellt.
