Stability of tapered cantilever columns subjected to a tip concentrated subtangential follower force

Abstract

A simple and accurate numerical scheme is used for the determination of critical loads of tapered cantilever columns subjected to a tip concentrated subtangential follower force. Three types of variation of taper are considered and the critical loads are presented for various values of the subtangential parameter.
