Spontaneous isolated mesenteric fibromatosis

Report of a case

  • Published:
Diseases of the Colon & Rectum

Abstract

A rate case of spontaneous isolated mesenteric fibromatosis (mesenteric desmoid) unassociated with Gardner's syndrome or prior abdominal surgery is presented. Computed tomography revealed a nonenhancing, well-defined, large, soft-tissue mass in the mesentery. The clinical and radiographic features of mesenteri fibromatosis are reviewed and the differential diagnosis is discussed.
