Abstract

It is shown that use of aluminum hydroxychloride, Al2(OH)5Cl, is the most efficient way to purify highly colored waters. It is proved that the intensity of mixing of this coagulant with water in a disperser exerts decisive influence on the stages of the adsorption-destabilization mechanism in the pH range 5.0–6.5 and makes it possible to intensify the process tens and hundreds of times and to reduce reagent consumption by 30–40%.
