Tests of inertial devices to protect hydraulic props from dynamic loading

Abstract

A new principle is proposed for the design of emergency safety devices to protect the hydraulic props of powered supports from dynamic loads. The method makes it possible to use the sluggishness of moving locking parts to depressurize rapidly the piston cavity during impact. Results of stand tests are examined.
