Summary
After an introductory survey, in which, among other things the taxonomy of the various groups of known paracolon bacteria was discussed, we investigated the occurrence of these groups in the Netherlands on the basis of our own researches. It appeared that it was chiefly the abberrant coliform bacteria included inBorman’s genusParacolobactrum andStuart’s B5 W group, (Bact. anitratum) which could be qualified as pathogenic bacteria.
