Abstract

The rapid determination of oxygen by activation analysis with a Hungarian neutron generator in materials used in electronics is reported. The instrumentation and experimental technique as well as the results of the trace analysis of oxygen in Al, Cu, Ag, Au, Nb, Ta, Zr and Se and of the investigation of oxygen distribution between surface and volume are described, indicating the detection sensitivity and accuracy. The possibilities of improving the detection sensitivity are discussed.
