After a brief historical review into the uses to which the gyroscope has been put, to date, as a north-seeking instrument, a description is given of the function and design of the Wild GAKI Gyro-Attachment. In addition to the already well-known turning point method the new, simple method of observing the gyro transits through the plane of the telescope's line of sight, in the approximate direction of the Meridian, is described together with the Gyro-Attachment's possible applications for use.

Nach einem kursen historischen Rückolick auf die Bisherige Verwendung des Kreisels als nordweisendes Instrument wird die Funktion und der Aufbau des Aufsatzkreisels Wild GAKI beschrieben. Anschliessend wird neben der bereits bekannten Nachführmethode die neue, einfache Methode der Beobachtung der Kreiseldurchgänge durch die Fernrohrzielebene im genäherten Meridian erläutert und die Einsatzmöglichkeiten des Aufsatzkreisels aufgezählt.

Après une courte rétrospective sur l'emploi du gyroscope comme instrument d'orientation par rapport au nord, on décrit le fonctionnement et la construction du gyroscope Wild GAKI. On commente ensuite, à côté de la méthode déjà connue des points d'élongations maximum, la nouvelle méthode simple d'observation des passages de l'axe de la toupie à travers le plan de visée de la lunette se trouvant déjà approximativement dans le méridien. Les possibilités d'emploi du gyroscope sont énumérées pour terminer.
