Influence of synergistic effect on the selective catalytic reduction process NO x −C n H m /O2 on zeolites

  • Published:
Theoretical and Experimental Chemistry Aims and scope

Abstract

A synergistic effect has been observed experimentally on the increased activity of selective reduction of NO on cation-decationized forms of pentasil containing cobalt and on the reduction of nitrogen monoxide with propane-butane mixtures when calcium and lanthanum cations were introduced into the hydrogen form of zeolites with the pentasil structure. This non-additive increase in the activity of the zeolite catalysts is attributed to an increase in the concentration of Brönsted acid centers and their defined localization on interaction of cations (Co, Ca, La) with the H-form of the silicates. Activation of the hydrocarbon reduction occurs at these centers.
