Abstract
The kinetic behavior of inorganic α-nucleophiles (NH2O−, HOO−, ClO−, BrO−, and F− ions) in the transfer of phosphoryl and phosphonyl groups was studied. It was shown that ClO− and BrO− ions are unique α-nucleophiles, exhibiting not only supernucleophilic characteristics but also high oxidizing activity. The undoubted leaders among inorganic nucleophiles are the HOO− ion and hydroxylamine. The latter cleaves substrates that are stable in water unusually quickly not only in alkaline but also in neutral and acidic media.
