Abstract

A statistical technique using the concepts of Premium-Protection for error detection is applied to deformation measurement. The most attractive aspect of the method is the expression of test values involved in terms of size of deformation (within the limits of a particular design) to be detected. As a demonstration observations from a dam settlement survey are analysed.
