Abstract
A microcomputer-based multichannel analyzer system for NaI(Tl) scintillation detectors has been developed. This system simultaneously collects spectral data from two NaI(Tl) detectors, integrates spectral regions of interest, and operates the sample changer for each detector. Region of interest integrals and decay times are transferred to a Tracor Northern TN-11 computer based multichannel analyzer and data processor for storage and calculation. The system is based on two Intel 80/20 microcomputers and uses a Tektonix 4010 graphics terminal for spectral display and run parameter input. The precision of this instrument for repetitive analysis and the accuracy of the dead-time correction have been measured and are described in this report. The system offers the operator more options in data reduction than the previous counting equipment which was based on single channel analyzers.
