Development of the atmospheric Cherenkov imaging technique

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento C

Summary

Following a brief history of the atmospheric Cherenkov imaging technique and a summary of the current status of the field, we describe some of the potential developments of the method over the next few years. Due to constraints of space, we shall confine the discussion to single stand-alone telescopes—stereo imaging will not be discussed.
