Interpolation method for transient electromagnetic fields

Summary

The method for the transient electromagnetic fields interpolation from the irregular to the uniform array is suggested. It is based on the approximation of the observed data by the field of the current plane disposed at some depth in the homogeneous conductive Earth. The interpolation problem is reduced to solving the Fredholm integral equation of the first kind for unknown distribution of the current in the plane. The discretization of the integral equation results in the systems of the linear equations which are solved by the method of the singular value decomposition. The distribution of the current in the plane is used not only for the interpolation of the observed field but also for the calculation of the linear transformations of the field components. The results of testing of the method on theoretical models are presented.

Si suggerisce il metodo per l’interpolazione di campi elettromagnetici transitori dall’insieme irregolare a quello uniforme. Si basa sull’approssimazione dei dati osservati dal campo del piano di corrente disposto ad una certa profondità nella terra omogenea e conduttrice. Il problema dell’interpolazione si riduce a risolvere l’equazione integrale di Fredholm del primo tipo per la distribuzione non nota della corrente nel piano. La discretizzazione dell’equazione integrale dà come risultato i sistemi delle equazioni lineari che sono risolte con il metodo della scomposizione del valore singolare. La distribuzione della corrente nel piano è usata non solo per l’interpolazione del campo osservato ma anche per il calcolo delle trasformazioni lineari dei componenti del campo. Si presentano i risultati delle prove del metodo sui modelli teorici.
