A complete data base of kinematical data for early-type galaxies

Summary

As a result of an exhaustive bibliographical search covering the period 1975–1988, a complete catalogue of kinematical data for early-type galaxies (ellipticals and lenticulars) has been compiled. The catalogue contains all data—both in tabular and in plotted form—appeared in specialized literature before December 1988 and includes central velocity dispersions, rotation curves, and velocity dispersion profiles for 846, 174 and 108 objects, respectively. The catalogue is also available on magnetic tape—made available to the astronomical community through the Strasbourg Data Center—and will be updated yearly.

Vengono descritte le caratteristiche di un data base di dati cinematici per galassie ellittiche e lenticolari. Il catalogo contiene tutti i dati apparsi in letteratura dal 1975 al 1988 e comprende dispersioni di velocità centrali, curve di rotazione e profili di dispersione di velocità per 846, 174 e 108 oggetti rispettivamente. Oltre ai dati sono state incluse anche informazioni sugli strumenti e sui metodi di riduzione usati. Il catalogo, nella versione su nastro magnetico, sarà reso disponibile alla communità astronomica attraverso il Centro Dati di Strasburgo e sarà aggiornato annualmente.

В реультате исчерпывающего поиска, охватывающего период 1975–1988г.г., предлагается полный каталог кинематических данных для галактик раннего типа (эллиптически и линзообразных). Каталог включает все данные (табулированные и графические), которые были опубликованы до декабря 1988 года. Каталог включает также дисперсии центральных скоростей, кривые вращения и профили дисперсии скорости соответственно для 846, 174 и 108 объектов. Каталог записан на магнитном носителе и доступен астрономическому сообществу через центр данных Страсбурга и будет модернизироваться ежегодно.
