Summary
An HPLC method for the determination of D(−)-p-hy-droxyphenylglycine, D(−)-α-phenylglycine and 6-aminopenicillanic acid has been developed using a 5μm Hypersil spherisorb ODS 1 column (250×4.6 mm). These analytes were separated in a sigle run under isocratic conditions. Various chromatographic parameters including linearity, precision and accuracy have been evaluated. The method was found to be suitable for the analysis of process materials and effluencts associated with the manufacture of amoxycillin, ampicillin and cloxacillin sodium. The run time is less than five minutes.
