Abstract
We consider a linguistic variable named “Parameter” with discrete fuzzy numbers that corresponds to the discrete output function used for mechanical diagnosis. We construct syntactic and semantic rules for this variable under different constraints on the type of malfunctions that may appear. We present membership functions for the basic values of the linguistic variable “Parameter”
