Abstract
Through the creation of a hierarchical model of a technological design system it becomes possible to ensure the functional completeness of the system, permit the user to “overlay” command control programs depending on the demands of the design, satisfy the information needs of the system user, and separate the topical content from the command control programs and their representation in computer memory at different hierarchical levels.
