Abstract
Terminological aspects of the definitions of responsivity and detectivity of radiation detectors and photodetection devices are discussed. It is shown that existing terms and definitions leave a certain ambiguity in the functional relationship between detectivity and the threshold flux, and that this ambiguity leads to inconsistency in the definitions of the indicated threshold characteristics.
