Abstract

A broad class of two-dimensional encoding devices is considered which includes both the majority of known devices and those proposed for the first time and based on a new class of generalized one-dimensional sequences. Criteria are presented for optimizing an experiment and instrumental functions (point spread functions) are given which characterize the tomographic properties of integrated encoding measuring systems when employing the new encoding devices.
