Abstract
A study is made of the static characteristics and systematic errors of magnetostriction transducers used to determine the parameters of motion (MPMT). It is shown that the systematic error of MPMTs is due mainly to nonuniformity of the wave impedance of the delay line of the MPMT, which is randomly distributed over the length of the line. A method is proposed for calculating this error and results of calculations are presented for the range 1–18 m. The distribution function of the systematic error is approximated by cubic splines, ensuring a total error no greater than 0.008% for the MPMT within the indicated range.
