Summary
-
1.
Our method of calculation enables one to determine the main parameters of the receiving-loading mechanism of a miller-type excavator, i.e., the length of the loading front and the required loader throughput.
-
2.
We have shown how to determine the conditions (bench height, angle of slope, speed of advance, depth of cutter penetration, etc.) which ensure that rock cut by the panel cutters is completely piled on the conveyer.
-
3.
To render the method more accurate, it would be necessary to investigate the interaction of the cutter blades with the rock stream.
