Conclusions

  1. 1.

The derivation of universal analytical methods of calculating displacements is impeded by the presence of many interrelated factors, so that we are led to seek approximate methods of prediction.

  2. 2.

On the basis of statistical processing of field observation results, quantitative laws have been established for the displacements of the peripheries of workings as functions of time, in relation to the strengths of the rocks, the angle of dip, and the cross-sectional dimensions of the workings.

  3. 3.

The relations thus obtained can be used in selecting the type of supports and the value of their compliance for the conditions of the Almaznaya-Mar'evka and Lisichanks regions of the Donbass at depths of 700–800 m, as well as for regions with identical or similar mining and geological conditions.
