Conclusions

  1. 1.

The author reviewed a system for calculating the stability of a slope of ledge rock, which enabled us to consider systems of fractures with lines of intersection dipping towards the working.

  2. 2.

Formulas were suggested which permit analytical determination of the limiting slope heights and minimum permissible berm widths for various purposes. The limiting slope height depends on the elements of direction of the diagonal systems of fractures, the elements of direction of the slope surface, the cohesion, and the angle of internal friction along the fractures, and the unit weight of the rock; the berm width depends on the limiting slope height and the elements of the fractures and slope surface.
