Summary
Retention ability of different types of solid supports with respect to active agents was studied using NaXtype zeolites as the example. The relative contribution of the zeolite (active agent) and the solid support to the overall adsorption of certain hydrocarbons was determined. The role of dispersity (particle size) and depth of penetration of the active agent in the pores of the solid support was investigated, using the uniformity criterion\(\bar \Delta\) of Vigdergauz. The performance of chromatographic columns packed by surface-layer sorbents is compared with columns packed with the pure active agent.
