Electrochemical potentials, optical transitions, and frontier orbitals of non-bridged and bridged bent sandwich zirconocene complexes

Abstract

A linear correlation between the electrochemical gap values (G=E oxE red) and the energies of optical transition in the UV-vis region was found and justified for a series of non-bridged and bridged bent-sandwich zirconocene complexes with the general formula R(η5-L)2ZrX2, where L=cyclopentadienyl (Cp), indenyl (Ind), fluorenyl (Flu); X=Cl, Me; the bridging group R=SiMe2, (CH2)2.
