Summary
The conductivity detection equation for unsuppressed anion-exchange chromatography was examined using benzoic acid,p-hydroxybenzoic acid and phthalic acid as cluents. When the sample was the same as the cluent, clear disagreement between the equation and experimental results was found. In order to achieve agreement the conductivity detection equation was rearranged and applied to assist determination of a two-component overlapping peak in unsuppressed anion-exchange chromatography. The determination of overlapping peaks of benzoic andp-hydroxybenzoic acids and of selenite and nitrate is described in this paper.
