Summary
Capillary Electrochromatography coupled to mass spectrometry offers a highly efficient and potentially sensitive separation and detection technique. Work presented demonstrates the separation of thirteen structurally related compounds from the parent drug candidate. The analysis of solid phase extracts of plasma samples containing known concentrations of drug are used to investigate the quantitative capabilities of the technique. Results and analysis protocols are discussed critically. Discussion of the instrumental layout and modifications and implications for future instrument design are also presented.
