Abstract
Wounding of stems ofLathyrus odoratus induced increased mitoses with polyploid in vascular and pith tissues, but not in cortex. Cell division area extended 200 μm from the wound edge. These facts confirm the previous observations inPisum sativum. DNA content of normal stem nuclei was high in vascular and pith tissues, but not in cortex.
