Abstract

Based on observations of the development of pedate leaves in Araceae, including new observations onPinellia pedatisecta andTyphonium larsenii, two patterns were recognized. One pattern was found to be restricted toArisaema (Arisaematinae) andPinellia (Atherurinae), which may suggest monophyly between these two genera (subtribes).
