Abrasion test for precast concrete paving products

Abstract

The study carried out by seven European partners made it possible to develop a precast concrete paving product abrasion resistance test. This test has been adopted by the corresponding draft European Standards. It allows for direct testing of products or portions cut from products, whether they are new orin situ.

This report presents the main characteristics of the apparatus and how it is used.

Résumé

L'étude conduite par sept partenaires européens a permis de mettre au point un essai permettant de tester la résistance à l'abrasion des pavés, dalles et bordures en béton. Cet essai a été adopté par les projets de normes européennes correspondantes. Il permet la mesure directe sur produits ou sur échantillons découpés dans ceux-ci, que ce soit avant livraison ou une fois en place.

Ce rapport présente les principales caractéristiques du dispositif d'essai ainsi que ses conditions d'emploi.
