Étude expérimentale des états limites de réversibilité, de fissuration et de rupture du béton d'argile expansée en compression biaxiale.

Summary

This report describes a new apparatus for tensile loading of concrete specimens especially used for experimental research on the mechanical behaviour of expanded clav concrete under biaxial tensile stress.

The measurement of total and residual deformation shows that the most extensive disorders found in the material structure occur along the principal major tensile stress axis.

The reversibility, cracking and failure limit state of specimens are obtained for a value of the principal major stress which is practically independent of the value of the principal intermediate stress.
