Summary
This paper presents an analysis of the two years results of direct strain measurement in the concrete of the testing floor (a 90 cm thick concrete slab strongly prestressed in two directions) of the “Laboratorio de Estruturas” of Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
The purpose of the research is to observe the creep of the concrete and the change with time of Poisson's ratio in a state of biaxial compression.
The set of employed instruments consisted of 31 Carlson-Kyowa electric strain-gauges, which are also thermometers, and 12 supports for readings with mechanical removable strain meters.
