Abstract

In some Eastern European countries, the combined method Ultrasonic velocity—Rebound index is commonly used and has been officially standardized, for thein situ non-destructive testing of the strength of concrete.

This report presents the results of the application of this method in Italy on a certain number of sample concrete cubes of various composition. The error with respect to the corresponding results obtained by crushing was also analysed.

With particular reference to current Romanian recommendations, some modifications and extensions to this method, for application in Italy, are suggested.
