The thermal conductivity of fresh concrete

Summary

The paper reports a transient method of measurement of the thermal conductivity of fresh concrete. Results are presented for conventional and “no fines” concrete. Predictions of temperature distributions using the measured values are illustrated.

Résumé

Cet article décrit le système expérimental utilisé dans la détermination de la conductivité thermique du béton frais par une méthode transitoire; cette méthode est applicable à la majorité des matériaux de construction et le procédé de calcul est décrit. Les avantages de cette méthode sur les méthodes permanentes classiques sont les suivants:

    rapidité

  2. b)

    élimination du transfert d'eau dans l'échantillon.

La méthode a été appliquée à des bétons classique et caverneux sept jours après le coulage et l'on montre que la conductivité thermique du béton classique décroît de 2.17 W.m./m2 0C à 1.52. W. m. /m2 0C au cours de cette période initiale de prise.
