Abstract
A radiotelemetry system for automatically recording the time of occurrence and duration of copulation in sheep, with ewe identification, is described. The system can monitor up to 15 ewes with one ram. The ewes are equipped with individual oscillators which, during copulation, modulate a transmitter carried by the ram. The transmitted signals are received and demodulated to provide the data. Data output is in both a multichannel digital and single-channel coded analogue form.

Un système radio-télémetrique permettant d'enregistrer le moment et la durée de la copulation chez le mouton et d'identifier la brebis est décrit. Le système peut suivre jusqu'à quinze brebis avec un bélier. Les brebis sont munies d'un oscillateur qui module un transmetteur porté par le bélier durant l'accouplement. Les signaux transmis sont modulés à leur réception pour l'enregistrement des données. Les données sont reproduites à la fois sous forme numérique sur canal multiple et sous forme analogue codée sur canal unique.
Zusammenfassung
Es wird ein Funkfernmeßsystem zur automatischen Aufzeichnung von Vorfall und Dauer der Paarung bei Schafen einschl. Identifizierung des Mutterschafes, beschrieben. Das System kann bis zu fünfzehn Mutterschafe überwachen und einen Bock. Die Mutterschafe sind mit Oszillatoren versehen, die während der Paarung einen Sender steuern, den der Bock bei sich trägt. Die übertragenen Signale werden empfangen und demoduliert, um die Angaben zu erhalten. Die Datenausgabe erfolgt sowohl in digitaler Mehrkanalform wie in verschlüsselter, analoger Einkanalform.
