Abstract
The interaction of gaseous PCl3 and POCl3 with dried and wetted pyrogenic silica has been studied by IR spectroscopy. The acceleration of the chemisorption accompanied by the formation of Si−O−P bonds in the presence of water vapor has been observed only with phosphorus trichloride.
