Abstract

Modern machine building and tool industries sometimes use toxic liquid media based on cyanic salts for saturating the surface of various parts with carbon and nitrogen. Green vitriol used for neutralizing the worked-out salts does not provide a full cleaning of the waste waters. For this reason the search for nontoxic liquid media for carbonitriding remains an urgent problem.
