Abstract
For the investigation of the rheological properties of human skin an extensometer has been constructed which is capable of extending specimens at a constant rate under controlled temperature and humidity, recording the results in the form of a stress-strain curve. Sections of the curve have been attributed to various phases of extension. Empirical equations have been fitted to these phases of extension, and the constants have been related to various elements of the skin structure. The constants have been determined and compared with regard to site, sex and age.
Sommaire
