Summary
The behaviour of an hydrated monoclinic Alite on exposure to heat at six months has been observed by means of micro-test pieces 10×10 mm between ambient temperature and 400°C.
After recalling a few generalities, the paper describes the evolution of the material in its physical aspects: strengths, dehydration, shrinkage, supplemented by radiocrystallographic examinations and by infra-red spectrography.
