Summary

In response to the preceding letter, the authors believe the arguments are disputable because of the density of the fluid used (aggregates ‘weightless’—no piling effect) and the loading is dynamic (cf. classical vane test). Nevertheless, M. De Larrard's remarks point out possible developments.
